Making the Contemporary Contemporary
As Deputy Director, Chief of External Relations and Planning, Beth Tuttle was a principal in the museum-wide initiative to re-invigorate, re-envision and re-brand the Smithsonian’s museum of modern and contemporary art. Built around the museum’s passion for the art and artists of our time, the effort spanned staff and board work to develop a shared vision, goals, and strategic plan; through brand development and identity redesign, communications, marketing and fundraising planning; and culminated in the implementation of new programs, interpretive strategies, fundraising approaches, and award-winning publication, website and advertising campaign.
