"Every great dream begins with a dreamer. Always remember, you have within you the strength, the patience, and the passion to reach for the stars to change the world."
- Harriet Tubman
METStrategies for Leadership is a woman-owned business on a mission to help social-benefit leaders ignite their passion and unlock the courage and clarity to achieve their limitless leadership vision.
I'm Beth Tuttle and I launched METStrategies in 2008, to ensure that visionary change makers and the vital organizations they lead could not just endure, but instead thrive, through times of change or challenge. Having served as President/CEO of two nationally recognized nonprofits, I've experienced firsthand the importance of cultivating personal resilience and mental fitness; having a set of “true north” values and vision to turn to and give shape to the organizational cultures we nurture; and establishing an unshakable leadership presence as individuals and mission-motivated organizations.
Clients engage METStrategies at their crossroads moments for individual and team coaching or organizational strategy consulting. Whether you are feeling blocked or worn down by external forces or self-limiting beliefs, culture or behaviors, or are poised to define a new future for yourself or your organization, I can help you gain:
When I wanted to become a better leader I hired a coach for myself. This enabled me to overcome default behaviors that were making me less productive, too demanding of myself and others, and often like an imposter. As a result I found greater purpose, meaning and impact in my work. If you, too, experience these feelings or find that, despite your “success,” any sense of accomplishment and joy is fleeting, I invite you to reach out for a free coaching session.
I work with CEOs, Directors, and division heads, as well as high-potential mid-career professionals who are ready to gain:
Working together we will unlock your resident wisdom and creative potential so that you can accomplish more with greater ease, confidence, courage, and heart.
I also coach teams to develop:
What could you achieve if…
you were able to master your mindset rather than letting it master you?
What would it feel like if…
you no longer dwelled in the negative being critical of yourself, of others or of the circumstances life hands you or you weren’t always run ragged by your need to please others or accomplish your never-ending ‘to do’ list?
What bold action would you take if…
you could easily tap into the wellsprings of empathy, curiosity, creativity, and sense of deeper meaning and purpose that are resident within you?
Each of us has a powerful, Positive Intelligence within us. We were born with ready access to awe, wonder, creativity, kindness, and compassion. But over time, all of us develop limiting beliefs and behaviors – Saboteur forces that manifest as our Hyper-Achiever, Controller, Pleaser, Victim, or Avoider (among others). These Saboteurs undermine and block access to our innate Sage powers of Positive Intelligence.
You can reclaim your Positive Intelligence by working with me in a powerful eight-week mindset mastery accelerator program developed by Stanford-based neuroscience lecturer and NY Times bestselling author, Shirzad Chamine. As a certified Positive Intelligence coach, I incorporate the Positive Intelligence program into a dynamic and supportive small group-coaching format.

METStrategies offers experience, insight, and proven approaches to engage internal teams and external stakeholders in successful strategic thinking. We know how groups work, how they learn, and how to empower them to solve problems and imagine new opportunities together.
Dozens of complex mission-driven organizations in the cultural, advocacy, philanthropic and corporate sectors have engaged us to help them find their true strengths and chart their future course.
Capabilities:
We work with social-benefit leaders and organizations to co-create resilient, values-centered organizational cultures. This starts with understanding the values that drive our beliefs and behaviors, and results in greater alignment, productivity, and meaning for the people who power your mission.

"After 30 years in my nonprofit leadership and development consulting career, I needed help to seamlessly transition into a “new life” as author, and find a sustainable way forward. Her insights helped me get out of the strangling weeds of the work, and gain an aerial perspective on an exciting, even bigger future with unlimited possibilities. She gave me tools and techniques for decision-making to filter new project opportunities aligned with my values and passions; work-life balance; rekindling mission passion; facing fears; maintaining focused intentions; and living my values. There have been many aha moments. With her vast breadth of knowledge and experience, Beth is a skilled coach who is able to meet you where you are, and help you get to where you want to be." ⏤ Kathy Harmon-Luber, author, The Healing Journey
“Mental fitness coaching teaches you to accept stressful or negative interactions and redirect them into positive experiences. As a former police chief with more than 39 years’ experience, I wish I had received this coaching earlier in my career. Law enforcement professionals with high levels of positive Intelligence will be more effective in leading organizations and have happier lives.”
⏤ David Nye, Career Law Enforcement Professional, Alexandria, VA
"Beth brings rich diversity of professional experience and a strong coaching toolkit that helps a coachee understand the situation they face and develop paths forward. I appreciate her flexibility in using both analytical tools and open problem-solving conversations to understand and explore topics." ⏤ Matthew Rader, President, Pennsylvania Horticultural Society
Beth coached me through a pivotal change in my career. She was thoughtful, insightful and objective as she challenged me to think about how to define my “next chapter”. A critical part of this was utilizing the elements of “Positive Intelligence” and considering what triggers certain patterns of behavior. I feel very fortunate to have worked with Beth while making this decision and would recommend her to others who are working through professional and life changes. ⏤ Stephanie Paulson, Certified Public Accountant
"I highly recommend Beth as a coach. She will challenge your assumptions and make you think broadly and deeply about your values and capabilities. [She] introduced a number of techniques that helped me...think more creatively and critically." ⏤ Jennifer Adams, Membership Director, American Council in Education
“This was not just a stress relief program. It’s about being a better you. It is about ripping away the body armor and seeing what’s inside. Having that coach there to say, here is where you are…where do you want to be? Then helping you set the path to get there. That’s what made it work.”
⏤ Michael Paxton, Federal Correctional Institution - Bastrop, Texas
"Beth is one of those rare people who can blend strategic insight, inspired leadership, clear communication, caring connection and a great sense of humor. Every board meeting is an opportunity to learn..." ⏤ Tom Kaiden, Chief Operating Officer, Visit Alexandria and former DataArts Board member
"Working with Beth has improved my leadership skills and helped me build a roadmap for the next five years. She has great insight into the corporate and nonprofit sectors." ⏤ Melissa Walker SVP & Loan Team Manager, Wells Fargo
